Citizen licensed edition watches

Licensed editions are Citizen watches made under official licence with Star Wars and Marvel. Underneath the artwork they are regular Citizens: the same Eco-Drive movements found in lines like the Nighthawk, Brycen and Corso, steel or titanium cases, and the full manufacturer warranty that comes with any Citizen from an authorized dealer like Ducci.

Built on Citizen’s own movements

Look at the calibre numbers and the family resemblance is plain. The chronographs, Rebel Pilot, Darth Maul, Luke Skywalker, Black Panther and Spider-Man, run on calibre B612, the same Eco-Drive chronograph as the Nighthawk and the 44mm Brycen: a fifth of a second for up to 60 minutes, with 12/24-hour time. The Stormtrooper, Death Star, X-Wing and TIE Fighter, Classic Avengers and Wolverine use calibre J810, the three-hand with a date inside the steel and titanium Brycens. The Jedi Master Saber, Millennium Falcon Hyperdrive and Hulk share calibre E111 with the 40mm Corso. Star Wars or Marvel

The Star Wars watches are the larger group: Eco-Drive chronographs and three-hands from 40mm to 45mm, plus 33.5mm rectangular ana-digi quartz models with a second time zone, a thermometer and a chronograph to a thousandth of a second. The Marvel watches are all Eco-Drive, from the 39mm Fantastic Four in Super Titanium to the 44mm Spider-Man chronograph, and two of them come as box sets.

Limited editions

Some licensed watches are made in limited numbers. The Fantastic Four, in Super Titanium under sapphire crystal, is limited to 1,100 pieces, and Citizen has made limited runs of Star Wars watches too. Other limited runs from Citizen and Bulova are gathered in our limited editions.

As a gift

These are some of the easiest watches to choose for a fan, because the character does half the work. Most are 42mm to 45mm, so they suit an average to larger wrist; the 39mm Fantastic Four, the 40mm three-hands and the 33.5mm ana-digis are the smaller choices. Questions

Do licensed watches need batteries? The Eco-Drive models charge from any light and need no regular battery change. The Star Wars ana-digi models are quartz with a battery.

Are they made by Citizen? Yes. They are Citizen watches, made and warranted by Citizen, under licence from the film and comic franchises.

Which ones have sapphire crystal? The Jedi Master Saber, the Classic Avengers and the Fantastic Four. The rest use mineral crystal, which is tough and can be replaced if it ever gets scratched.

Are there licensed watches for women? The range is sized mostly for men. The 33.5mm rectangular Millennium Falcon ana-digi is listed as unisex, and the 39mm and 40mm models wear smallest.
